Chicago's Angel

In Memory of:

Officer Michael Ceriale

Chicago Police Department

Though I did not know him, his beautiful smile is seen in
the face of his loving cousin, Steve Zelenko. A little poem.

A young man with charm and grace,
After his death everyone knew his face,
he took a vow to serve and protect,
so the tragedy of violence would never in this city resurrect.

Only twenty six, his eyes had not yet seen the world,
His short lived life will in all of our hearts forever yearn.
Chicago listened and watched as this hero began,
and witnessed the victims of his family hurt again and again.

He fought for his life with all that he had,
We all could not help but be purely mad.
For such a loving son, grandson, cousin, friend,
Had to go so soon, leaving his smile in our heads to turn.

He was shot in a way no one will ever forget,
He touched the hearts of all those he met.
Like an angel watching over us- Michael Ceriale, to you we give all our
love and respect.
