"I Never Got the Chance to Say Goodbye
"If Tomorrow Never Come" by Garth Brooks)

Yesterday's morning paper
 brought the tragic news,
of how your vacation had turned fatal
on a North Carolina road.

The tears welled up in my eyes as I read;
how a motorcycle crash had claimed your life.
No longer able to fight back my tears
I headed for the beach at Pink Shell
where I knew I could be alone.

Nick, I never got the chance to say, goodbye.
I never told you how special you were or how much I cared
Now you are gone forever,
and all I have left are a few precious memories
of the fun times we had when you worked North District.
Darlin’ you were a special kind of person
that I considered a very special friend.
I only wish, I would have told you so,
before you had to go.”
